Web design – and strategy is impossible to deliver at a fixed price, without the designer making lots of profit for doing nothing.
Design is a process, it can sometimes take time, marketing and development takes time, quality work doesn’t happen overnight and making sure you – the client is happy and attending to every detail can take hours to achieve, so to put a fixed price on the process there has to be a catch.
And there is a catch, the people who sell you a site at a fixed price are doing one of two things:

- Or, designing the website themselves, and if it all starts to take too long to make you happy, they will cut corners and do things half assed to save time – they aren’t selling you the service to lose money so quick and dirty is the name of the game.
Think about it, what are you asking a web developer to do for you?
Build you a website so you can:

- Attract new business
- Give your product or service more exposure
What are they selling you?
A template built by someone else that:
- Has little to no relevance to your business
- Isn’t designed to sell your products or services to anyone
- Is generic and used on lots of other sites
- Is being sold to you for the sole purpose to make some quick cash
Their money is in turnover, the more they can sell the more they can make. They aren't interested in how the webiste they are building is going to help you the customer make a return on your investment.

We bill by the hour, and only for the hours we spend working on your project, there’s no magical padding that’s pure profit, we earn our profit from long hours and lots of them! For example, it’s 2.14am right now, on a Saturday night!
All we’re trying to say is get what you paid for, work out what you need and find someone that can build what you need.
Not forgetting that everyone now days judges how good your services are by your website, the internet is the first go to guy to find out who to buy from and who’s services to use. Image is everything and if your first impression is a very bad one, how hard do you think it’ll be to close that window and move on to the next provider on Google… Spending the profit from that one sale you lost could have made you many more. |
